Executive Committee NASW-MN Chapter Staff


 

The Executive Committee is a sub-committee of the NASW-MN Governing Board.  It is comprised of the Executive Director and Board Officers (President, President-Elect, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer), as well as 2 members from the At-Large, Geographic Unit, and Student Board members. 

The Executive Committee meets every other month, when the full Board is not meeting.

Anne Gearity, Ph.D., LICSW
President

Anne is in independent practice, working with children, adolescents and adults.  She teaches child development and clinical practice on graduate and post graduate levels.  She also consults with community agencies, and has research interests in children and adolescents who present with serious aggressive and disruptive behaviors.  Currently, Anne is part of the Washburn Child Guidance Clinic staff who are developing and evaluating, with the support of the Bush Foundation, a treatment model for these very at risk children. Anne's Ph. D. is in clinical social work and she is a past officer and board member of the MN Clinical Social Work Society.

Paula Haraldson, LICSW
Vice President

Paula currently works as a therapist at Relate Counseling Center specializing in Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Paula has dabbled in many kinds of social work including college settings and private practice. She received her MSW in 1982 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and she also holds a Master's Degree in Theology. Paula states, "the people and experiences in my life have been my biggest education and I look forward to learning more by being on the NASW board."  She is eager to promote NASW and to encourage more social workers to join.  Paula lives in South Minneapolis with her husband Paul and their cat Trixie.

Jennifer Edwards, MSW
Secretary

Jen earned her Bachelors Degree in Political Science and German from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire in 1999 and her MSW degree from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, in 2006.  Her education focused on social policy and community organizing, and her thesis consisted of a website template and toolkit to encourage e-advocacy among NASW chapters.  Prior to receiving her MSW degree, Jen worked for a U.S. Congressman in Washington, D.C. 
 
Jen serves on the SPAN and Membership and Marketing committees with NASW-MN.  In addition, she holds a position on the Scott County Human Services Resource Council.  After spending several years in Northern Virginia, Jen recently returned to Minnesota and lives in Shakopee with her husband and son, Eli.

Nate Rauschendorfer, MSW, LICSW
Treasurer

Nate received his B.S. from the U of MN with a major in Family Social Science in 1999 and his MSW from St. Thomas/St. Kate's in 2005. Nate's MSW research project addressed the topic of social worker involvement in the electoral process. Nate recently passed his LICSW exam and is employed as a social worker at Catholic Charities where he provides counseling for groups, families, couples and individuals with a focus on working with Teen Fathers. Nate is also a member of AASWG (Social Work with Groups), Sowers of Justice (Catholic Church), is a Camp Wellstone graduate, serves on the SPAN Committee (Social Policy - NASW), and has participated in planning Social Work Day at the Capitol for the last few years.  

Nate is also married & the proud father of 2 energized boys!
